The boy Kaio Guilherme, 8 years old, hit by a stray bullet to the head last Friday (17), in Bangu, West Zone of Rio, remains hospitalized in serious condition at Hospital Municipal Pedro II, in Santa Cruz. An aunt of the boy told GloboNews that the boy died of brain death on Monday morning (19).
According to the newspaper Extra, the boy was with his mother, teacher Thais Silva, 29, at a children's party when she fell to the floor with a bleeding head. The event took place in an open space, with about 30 children and three other adults.
The mother told the newspaper that there was no confrontation in the region. A neighbor, who is a rescuer, helped rush Kaio to the hospital.
